1 cup soaked greengram (hesaru kaalu)
4-5 green chillies
1 cup chopped coriander leaves.
1 tsp. Jeera seeds
Pinch of ajwain
Salt to taste
Oil to deep fry
Coarsely grind the greengram, with no water
Now add other ingredients and grind with minimum water.
Heat oil in a wok, and drop spoonful of ground batter fry to golden brown.
Serve hot with coconut chutney, tamarind chutney or sauce.
Since this is a snack, if I want to serve this for breakfast then I add a little more water and make it dropping consistency and spread it on a skillet. As a filling I add mashed cottage cheese with rock salt, or chaat masala.
